Most of the time, this violence barely registers. We hear about incidents and may read about them on Google News, but we still go about our business the same way we did before.

And why shouldn't we— I just told you in 2005 a violent crime was commited in America every 22.7 seconds. That's a lot of violence to keep track of.

But when someone is lost when they're young and vibrant and have so much left to do and see and be— you feel it. The loss is a tragedy that manifests physical symptoms.

When they're lost at the hands of someone who was meant to protect and guide them it burns you. The INJUSTICE of it explodes your heart.

It isn't a contributing number to the tragic and alarming statistics, in this case it was a son and a brother and a friend and a co-worker and a young man with plans and ideas and dreams to share with the world. And his voice has been silenced by circumstances we may never understand.

But if you trust in God you know He helped this young man home, and that He is looking after him now as no one could've on earth.
