Snapshots: Willa Turns 5!

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of family and cake and PIZZA! It's unbelievable to me that it's been 5 years since she joined us. Amazing! She's a vibrant, intelligent and beautiful girl and we're blessed to have her! Enjoy the pics of her party. :)

I made this little man with fondant, he turned out pretty cute but I definitely need more practice with fondant!

I sketched out this W on a cardboard box and K cut it out with a jig saw. We taped in sides and a bottom, then K drilled the holes for the lights. Two battery operated packs later we have it!

Willa's First Day of Pre-K!

Our big girl started Pre-K this week! She's so excited, she wears her backpack around the house quite a bit of the time. :) I attended the first day with her, they had an orientation for parents where we learned about what the kids would be doing and ways we can participate. My mind was reeling with all the things we've got to help her remember: days she's meant to bring single-serving packaged-in-the-store treats, when she can bring show and tell and what it needs to relate to, the overnight bear and writing assignment that goes along with it, field trips and driving assignments and applesauce day. Whew! I know she's ready for this but it's all a bit much at once for me. :)

By the way, she fell asleep in my lap before dinner after that first day! She's a big girl now but she still needs a nap, lol. :)

Willa's First 'Studio' Dance Pictures

I finally got around to doing 'studio' shots from Willa's first dance recital this week. My backdrop/floor combo could use a little work, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! She, as always, is quite a card. She kept stopping the shoot to give me hugs. Cute! And also exasperating, lol!!

Our little monkey turned 2 on Monday and we celebrated with a baseball themed backyard get together over the weekend. He had a great time, but doesn't quite get the gist of a birthday. And if you ask him how old he is, he says 5. With conviction. Thanks to everyone that made it and enjoy the pics from the day!
