Snapshots: Willa Turns 5!

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of family and cake and PIZZA! It's unbelievable to me that it's been 5 years since she joined us. Amazing! She's a vibrant, intelligent and beautiful girl and we're blessed to have her! Enjoy the pics of her party. :)

I made this little man with fondant, he turned out pretty cute but I definitely need more practice with fondant!
I sketched out this W on a cardboard box and K cut it out with a jig saw. We taped in sides and a bottom, then K drilled the holes for the lights. Two battery operated packs later we have it!
Party Animals. :)
Our version of a circus tent.
Everyone clowning around!
Showing off her tightrope walking moves!
Star of the show, a new (old) bike!

Happy Birthday big girl!!

{Around Town] Country Apple Orchard

Waiting in line to purchase our apple picking bag.

A bin of colorful gourds.

Inside the store where they sort the apples.

A pretty wreath outside the store.

Dancing to the loudspeaker music while we waited for the ponies.

Someone was acting grumpy.

Still waiting for the ponies.

Finally on the ponies!

Marek's pony.

Not feeling the hay bale photo op.

Waiting for the wagon to take us to the apples.

 Pretty orchard rows.

Eating as we picked.

Filling the bag.

You can't really see it here but the ground was just covered in apples! Marek tripped on them over and over again. Willa walked on them on purpose.

Additional orchard views.

A few pumpkins en route to the apple orchard where we did our picking.

We had a wonderful time at the orchard! It was a fairly inexpensive couple of hours out in the sunshine. The kids loved their first pony rides and we all really loved the apple orchard and picking our own apples. The staff was very friendly too, this will definitely be part of our fall tradition from here on out!

Larson Reunion

I drove the kids up to Falnes on Sunday for the Larson Reunion (my Mom's Dad's side). It was about a three hour trip from Sioux Falls and the kids were awesome during the ride! They had a blast playing with their third cousins while the grown ups visited and I took the opportunity to practice with my camera a bit more. We also visited G. Viv's grave. Willa often asks me if her Grandma Vivian is with Jesus watching over her, which I find so endearing. I always answer that yes, indeed she is. Enjoy!

Road Trip!

In late May those that could make it met up at a rented cabin in Indiana for a few days of family vacation! Karl and I drove to our destination with lots of food and DIYed projects to share. We had photo props, campfire cones, travel games, music and two shockingly well-behaved babies. :) Enjoy snapshots of the trip!
