A New Blog Feature

Karl and I are culinary enthusiasts, and occasionally we stumble on a really yummy creation. When we do we love to share it with our friends and family and what better way than the information highway?

This recipe has great flavor and utilizes some of the Ehresmann household staples. We love black beans around here, and the garden has produced many a bell pepper and zucchini before the latter plant inexplicably died. Karl added quite a bit of hot sauce so ours had some serious heat, and I was pleased to taste the same old ingredients but get a truly different flavor combination than so often results. This one-dish meal is great too because nearly half the ingredients are vegetables, it contains complex carbs, lean proteins and fiber! Ditch the turkey sausage and make it vegetarian, without totally sacrificing the protein, or use red beans instead of black and still maintain the fiber.

Never tried turkey sausage? It's a leaner source of protein than regular sausage or even chicken, but packs a more flavorful punch like it's pork cousin.

key:
t = teaspoon
c = cup

Enjoy! And if you try it let us know what you think!

The Black Beans and Rice recipe was outstanding. Not only was it delicious, it was so beautiful in color, and so easy to prepare! My husband Rod and I are friends of Coleen & Curt, having met them at Canyon Vistas in Arizona. I've enjoyed looking at your Blog and watching Willa grow! What a darling daughter you have. Again, thanks for sharing the recipe and will look forward to others. (Marge from California)

Mom E, we think you'll like this one! The pumpkin yogurt business became much better once they'd been in the freezer a bit longer. Still not a keeper, but at least what we made wasn't a total loss.

Marge, so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for visiting our blog, and delighting in our baby girl. Any friends of Curt and Coleen are friends of ours!

Steph, 'sbout time you catch up, girl!
