We trimmed the tree last week, we've decided to make it a tradition to trim the Christmas tree on December 13th, Santa Lucia Day. It's a traditional holiday in Scandinavia, and we're trying to incorporate interesting and relevant traditions from our families and our heritage. We each took turns putting on an ornament, listening to Christmas music all the while. Then we lit it up and sat down to enjoy peppermint hot cocoa (the grownups) and chocolate milk (the kiddos). We ate Swedish Almond Star cookies, which are traditional cookies for the Swedes according to the internet. According to my Swedish friend, they are not (who knew the internet could lie?! Lol!). She also said her family isn't much into cookies, to be fair. Anyway we enjoyed our little tree trimming party.
Immediately thereafter Marek began taking all the ornaments OFF the tree. Typical. Willa was the same way at that age. :)

Family traditions are a precious memory for people of all ages. Thanks for the pictures. I consider them a wonderful Christmas moment that shortens the distance between us.
